How to Replace Oakley M Frame Lenses: A Step-by-Step Guide
What You'll Need
- A clean, soft surface to work on
- Microfiber cloth (to avoid fingerprints and smudges)
- Replacement lenses (compatible with Oakley M Frame)
Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace
Before starting, find a clean, flat surface to work on. Lay down a microfiber cloth or soft material to protect both your lenses and frame from scratches during the replacement process.
Step 2: Remove Your Old M Frame Lenses
To remove the lenses from your Oakley M Frame:
- Hold the frame with one hand and gently grasp the lens with the other.
- Start by pulling the nose bridge away from the lens. Oakley M Frames are built to be flexible, so it may take a bit of force, but don’t worry—the frame can handle it.
- Once the nose bridge is released, rotate the lens forward and away from the frame, removing it from the lens groove.
Step 3: Clean the Frame
With the old lenses removed, take a moment to inspect and clean your frame. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe away any dust or debris that may have built up in the lens grooves. Ensuring the frame is clean will help the new lenses fit securely.
Step 4: Insert the New Replacement Lenses
Now that your frame is prepped, it's time to install the new lenses:
- Align the new lens with the groove at the outer edge of the frame.
- Gently press the lens into place, starting with the top and working your way to the bottom.
- Once the lens is inserted, pull the nose bridge back slightly and tuck the lens into place.
- Ensure the lens is snug and secure within the frame. You should hear or feel a slight click when it locks in.
Step 5: Double-Check Fit and Clarity
After both lenses are in place, give your M Frame sunglasses a quick inspection. Make sure the lenses are securely fitted with no gaps around the edges. Wipe the lenses with your microfiber cloth to remove any smudges or fingerprints.
